Moira Madhwa is the typical young, beautiful and successful urban woman until the day she goes missing. Her friends start looking for her, but quickly realize nothing is as it seems. Moira had kept devastating secrets—secrets that could wreck their lives if revealed. As days roll by, one by one, skeletons tumble out of closets, and each of Moira’s friends’ looks guilty. But did one among them hate her enough to do the worst? A nail-biting, psychological suspense thriller, Dead to Them weaves a web of deception, lies, and paranoia in the city of Mumbai, where every face hides a dark story and uncovering it can lead to disastrous consequences.
"What if you're wrong? What if it's not what you think it is? Lives are at stake here."
My thoughts:
The story is about a girl, Moira who goes missing. Her best friends and colleagues at Brevity assume that it's probably a repetition of the disappearance that happened the last time and decide not to think much of it.
Moira's relationship with her friends Avni and Misha was perfect until Moira and Misha had a heated argument at a party. She was then hesitant about wanting to search Moira.
After a lot of resistance, when Piyush (Misha's husband) and Avni decide to search for clues at Moira's apartment, Avni suspects Piyush because of his odd behavior.
Moira's affair with Himanshu - - her boss, who has serious temper issues, makes him a suspect too of Moira's disappearance.
Moira's colleagues - - Kartik and Kavya too try to find information about Moira's whereabouts but Kartik's disinterest bothers Kavya. She wonders why none of Moira's friends were trying hard to locate her.
The story then describes each characters relationship with Moira in the past, their individual attempts at tracking Moira and getting to know her dark secrets, that in turn could ruin their lives.
"She was mad. He didn’t admit it to anyone but himself, but he was a bit afraid of her. But that was what had made it more thrilling, this clandestine affair—her recklessness, the sneaking around in plain sight, her being there but not completely, no obligation, only pleasure."

Dislikes:
💔 I couldn't feel much connection between the book cover and the story. So, maybe a different book cover would make this book perfect.
