It was love-at-first-sight for Armaan when he saw Tanisha. Despite being exact opposites of each other, they manage to keep their relationship alive. Unfortunately, things do not go as planned and they develop compatibility issues. In an unexpected turn of events, he comes upon an accident. Though he survives, the faint memory of a striking face with blue eyes flashed right before he collapsed and the accident haunts him forever. Months later, Armaan has a chance to encounter with the same 'Girl with blue eyes' and unknowingly, he is lured into an affair he can't deny! While he makes all the attempts to hide this from Tanisha, things start to get out-of-control as he is now in a dual relationship. As events unfold, he realizes this mysterious 'Girl with blue eyes’ comes with a lot of surprises. Must this 'Girl with Blue eyes' rake up his ordinary world? Deeply seductive and irresistibly compelling, 'The girl with blue eyes’ is an incredible page-turner that keeps the reader hooked.
Plot:
The story revolves around Armaan, who falls in love with Tanisha at first sight. With the help of a common friend, Armaan succeeds in making an acquaintance with Tanisha and as time passes by, Tanisha reciprocates the feeling of love. But after six months into the relationship, Armaan grows anxious to take his relationship ahead with his girlfriend, even if it's against her will.
Armaan's focus and attention soon shifts to another girl, the blue-eyed girl Rutvi, who's bold, smart and beautiful - totally contrasting Tanisha's nature. Unable to resist the attraction, Armaan hooks up with Rutvi multiple times, thereby cheating on Tanisha. But there's something mysterious about the blue-eyed girl, that Armaan isn't able to figure out.
Will Armaan confess to Tanisha about him double crossing her? Or will he live happily with the blue-eyed girl forever? What is it that Rutvu is hiding, even from Armaan? Read to find out.
Characters:
My favorite character in this book was Tanisha. A shy, sensitive girl who allows very few people into her life. Her nature was what made Armaan fall in love with her in the first place. But what's sad is how Armaan then uses these exact qualities and presents it as her weaknesses just to justify his attraction towards Rutvi.
Tanisha's character is too strong. She's bold, outspoken, confident and knows to charm the people around her very well. I really enjoyed reading about her bossy nature.
But the character I disliked the most has to be Armaan. His behavior towards Tanisha before and after they get into a relationship reflects his mentality towards women. What's worse was how he kept justifying his actions by blaming someone else.
Language and Writing style:
The prologue and epilogue were captivating. The storyline was great and fresh. I wish the author had focused more on the mystery, rather than outstretching Armaan's relationships. Also, there were quite a lot of lexical and grammatical errors that could have been avoided.
Title and Book cover:
The title is fitting since the story mainly focuses on Rutvi, the blue-eyed girl and her unfathomable secrets. It was the book cover that caught my eye and I still cannot shift my gaze from it. It's bewitching and mysterious. By far, one of the best book covers I have in my book collection.
Recommend?
The storyline definitely is innovative and hasn't been tried by other Indian authors. You can give it a read if you are looking for a light read.
